About Me

Hi there!

My name is Micayla Mollentze, and I’m a passionate Speech and Drama Teacher dedicated to helping all build their confidence and public speaking abilities.

My love for Drama started at a very young age. My mother was also a Speech and Drama teacher, so I was fortunate enough to be exposed to the world of Performance early on. She would often take me to her play rehearsals and to watch the performances on show nights, which sparked a deep love in me for the Dramatic Arts. As soon as I was old enough, I began attending drama classes in Primary School and quickly started landing main roles in our School Plays. Drama became my outlet, my passion, and my way of expressing myself. In High school, I continued to nurture my love for drama, taking it as a subject and actively participating in the Overberg Eisteddfod in multiple categories each year even winning a medal as "Best Performer" in the Eisteddfod categories for my age group. From Grade 4 to Matric, I participated in Performance Exams annually with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), an Internationally Recognized Drama College. Thanks to this dedication, I earned a Grade 8 Gold Medal for Acting - an achievement I’m incredibly proud of and further solidifying my expertise in the field. After completing my studies, I attended the Cape Academy of Dramatic Arts (CADA) to pursue my Teaching Qualification. I earned a Licentiate Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London, which has given me the tools and techniques to effectively teach students of all ages. My journey in teaching started with helping local schools prepare kids for the Eisteddfod. Seeing how drama could help children develop not just acting skills, but also self-assurance and public speaking abilities, inspired me to open my own studio.

Now, I am fully committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive, express themselves, and grow in confidence. My goal as a teacher is simple: to help each student find their voice and develop the tools they need to succeed both on and off the stage. Whether it's for Performance Exams, Eisteddfods, or just building confidence in everyday life, I’m here to guide my students, of all ages, every step of the way!
